Can you Love when you don’t Like?

Can you love yourself even when you feel sad, lazy, angry and lonely?  What if you could?

THIS is considered “shadow work.”

All the great prophets basically taught the same lesson; Love thy neighbor as thyself.  Have you considered that in order for that to happen, you must first consider yourself as your neighbor?

The qualities that you find as unfavorable are simply unembraced parts of your life’s experiences.  And until you can bring light to those life experiences that have you feeling wounded, whether consciously or unconsciously, they will control your behavior.

As long as you judge any aspect of yourself, you are creating suffering.  Your judgment drives your behavior to do whatever you can to hide that part of yourself.  It feels like a protective coping mechanism, one that has you feel that you are only displaying parts of yourself that you approve of.  If you judge the part of you that is greedy, you might behave in a way that shows your generosity.  You might be one who spends your time trying to please others so that they will only see the part of you that is a giver. Over time, you feel depleted because you give so much of yourself.   “Greed” is what you most need to bring your life back to balance, to cultivate self worth by getting your needs met and receiving all that you deserve.

Your greediness is the unembraced part of you that begs your attention.  At some earlier time in your life, you decided that greedy was a bad thing, so you lived your life doing everything BUT allowing yourself to use greed as a self care tool.

Learning to love ALL parts of yourself is the path to oneness.  When you learn to love all aspects of yourself, guess what happens?  You naturally learn to love all aspects of others.  Magic happens!

What gets in the way of embracing your shadow is FEAR.  As a workshop facilitator, author and coach, I teach you to Live Fearlessly, with my Fearless Living Events, group and private coaching.
